What is the "meaning" of Halal?
Ḥalāl is Arabic: حلال ḥalāl, for a word meaning 'permissible' or ‘lawful’.
The Qur'anic term Halal is that which is “permitted and allowed” by Allah, to which any object and/or action is accepted to be use and/or engage in, according to Islamic law.
The term covers and designates not only food and drinks, but also includes ‘all’ matters of daily life; that define the mortality of human action in Islam.

What is the “Importance” of Halal?
Consuming halal foods is an order of Allah(swt) and an essential part of the Islamic faith. Allah has repeatedly emphasized the consumption of halal in the Qur'an.
In Islam, beside prayer and other religious activities, eating is respected as a matter of worship to GOD. Muslims consume to maintain good health in order to perform their duty to contribute their knowledge and efforts for the welfare of society.
Islam’s have a general desire of ease, goodness, guidance, and mercy and eating Halal foods and drink is not only a religion governed rules and manners, but also a way of life and they reflect Islamic ideas and values.
Islam shows mercy towards people in that whatever it forbids something it provides a better substitute with which to replace it. Islam forbids ‘usury’, but allows ‘profitable-business’ and the Islam way also forbids ‘gambling’, but allows ‘winning’ any type of ‘prise’ in a contest. Islam’s also ban the drinking of “alcohol”.
